Our strengths as a partner
The SRC is part of the largest international humanitarian network: the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. 191 national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies with 16 million volunteers ensure that the Red Cross is established at the local level in almost all countries and enjoys the trust of the population. We work in close partnership with our sister societies and, thanks to our many years of experience and expertise, are a reliable partner. In Switzerland, the SRC is the oldest and largest humanitarian player and is there in all cantons for people who need help.
Value-based and credible
The work of the Red Cross is based on seven Red Cross principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. They serve as a guide, create trust and are a call to action: to protect the lives, the dignity and the health of vulnerable people and to support them in emergencies.
Transparent and effective
Our staff in Switzerland and abroad ensure that aid projects are carried out professionally. We regularly assess the effectiveness of our projects as well as their suitability to meet the needs of disadvantaged people or those inemergency situations.
We prepare our financial statements in accordance with the Swiss GAAP FER accounting standard.
