Corporate governance and the use of funds

Certification of the organization and the management

The Swiss Red Cross runs its organization and its operations in accordance with the Corporate Governance Guidelines for Non-Profit Organizations in Switzerland (Swiss NPO Code) and has obtained the Swiss NPO Code certificate.

Swiss GAAP FER

Each year the Swiss Red Cross publishes detailed annual accounts in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER that are verified and approved by external auditors.

Zewo quality seal

The SRC is a relief organization recognized by Zewo. The Zewo quality seal shows that we make diligent use of donations. The SRC adheres to the strict regulations of Zewo in its accounting, impartiality and transparency.

Investment regulations

The following investment regulations apply to the SRC’s financial management: ‘Purchasing derivative financial instruments is not permitted, with the exception of income stock in foreign currencies for the purposes of optimizing our foreign currency requirements in the course of the year. No investments are made in companies whose core business is the production or sale of tobacco, alcohol or arms. Our investments take account of companies’ sustainability and as far as possible also environmental, ethical and social criteria.’
