United for humanity

The SRC never acts alone. We act alongside our sister societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Humanity is our most important Fundamental Principle by which we are guided.

Together we promote the health of the population and combat epidemics across the world. We help the victims of natural disasters, climate change, armed conflict, displacement and disease.

Strengthening local action and resilience

Together with our local Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners, we reach out to the most vulnerable people. These are largely women, children, older people and people with disabilities. We strengthen their resilience to enable them to withstand difficult situations, such as disasters, better.

Our sister societies are best acquainted with the needs of the local population. The SRC therefore strengthens the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. It supports them, for instance, in setting up fundraising and establishing disaster operation readiness in order to respond better to the needs of the most vulnerable.
