Health

We work in Switzerland and in about 30 other countries to ensure better access to healthcare. Our goal is to maintain, promote or restore good health for everyone. Our low-threshold approach helps ensure equal access to medical services and health information.

Ageing and Health

Loneliness and poverty in old age can cause health problems. Physical ailments make everyday living more difficult for older people. We work to support healthy ageing – in Switzerland and worldwide.

Mother and child health

The SRC works all over the world to improve the health of women and children. Every year, 400,000 women and 2.5 million babies die before, during or shortly after childbirth.

Eye care worldwide

Around the world, as many as 43 million people are blind. The SRC provides eye care and runs educational campaigns.

Water and hygiene

SRC health programmes address the need for clean drinking water and hygiene promotion, as prerequisites for a healthy life.

Infectious diseases

Prevention and education help in the fight against infectious diseases. In Switzerland and other countries around the world, the SRC educates people about prevention.

Blood donation – the SRC helps in Switzerland and around the world

The SRC ensures that there is always enough blood available in Switzerland to save lives in emergencies. It helps to set up blood donation services worldwide.
