Regional Fundraising Delegate South Asia100 % – Place of work Dhaka
Financial sustainability is becoming increasingly important for Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies in Asia-Pacific. As international funding declines and humanitarian needs grow, National Societies are strengthening their capacity to mobilize domestic resources through fundraising from private sources. To support these efforts, the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) seeks a Regional Fundraising Delegate South Asia, starting on 1 January 2027 or per agreement, to provide technical guidance and hands-on support to partner National Societies, particularly in Bangladesh and Nepal, in building sustainable fundraising systems and resource mobilization capacities. The job location will be Dhaka, Bangladesh, with regular travel to Nepal and within the region.
What you will be doing
- Advise and accompany Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies in Asia Pacific on strengthening their financial sustainability, fundraising strategies and resource mobilization capacities
- Support the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Nepal Red Cross Society in developing and implementing sustainable fundraising systems, with a particular focus on fundraising and donor engagement
- Coach fundraising teams in private donor acquisition, stewardship and retention, fundraising planning, donor communications, corporate partnerships and digital campaign management
- Guide the implementation of fundraising infrastructure such as CRM systems, donation platforms, websites and digital payment solutions
- Support the recruitment, mentoring and capacity development of fundraising staff and foster collaboration between fundraising, communications, finance, IT and management teams
- Contribute to regional fundraising and financial sustainability initiatives in close collaboration with the Swiss Red Cross headquarter, the IFRC and other Movement partners
- Monitor progress, share lessons learned and contribute to project reporting and knowledge exchange across the region
Your profile
- University degree in marketing, communication, or fundraising with at least 5 years of proven experience in private source fundraising in a not-for-profit organization
- Proven experience in at least one of the following on- and offline fundraising instruments: individual giving (direct marketing), digital fundraising (donor communication and fundraising campaigns), face-to-face fundraising (regular giving), key account management for high-net-worth individuals or private corporations
- Experienced in using CRM systems for fundraising including implementing donor journeys
- Strong multi-stakeholder project management, communication, coordination, and leadership skills
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken, command of Bengali or Nepali languages is an asset
- Previous work experience in the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement and international work experience in South Asia is an asset
