An exotic journey on the Silk Road!

The 11th edition of the Swiss Red Cross Ball will be held on Saturday, 9th June at the Arena in Geneva.

Under the theme “Silk Road” in the Year of the Dragon the ball will host the prestigious Chinese contemporary ballet company “Shen Wei Dance Arts” kindly sponsored by BCD Travel. Shen Wei was given the honor of opening in 2008 the Beijing Olympics and have recently performed at New York’s famous Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ms. Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, President of the Swiss Confederation has graciously agreed to be this year’s Honorary Patron. We are delighted to welcome the celebrated Asian Actress Michelle Yeoh.

While the Swiss Red Cross Ball is renowned for its top entertainment, the goal of this event is to raise funds for the Victims of Forgotten Disasters. Since the launch of the Swiss Red Cross ball in 2002, more than CHF 6’600’000 was raised for humanitarian aid projects. This year the benefiting countries will be Sudan, Ghana, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador and Cambodia.

We are pleased that this year our Main Sponsors are the Guaranty Trust Bank, Blacksand Watches by Mouawad and Geneva’s five-star Hôtel Beau-Rivage who will be creating a superb “Asian Flair” menu with their Michelin and Gault Millau-starred chef Dominique Gauthier.
